I work with a number of different people in a wide variety of industries — from hospitality, to marketing, to boating, environmental products to publishing and public speaking. And it never fails to amaze me how small the world really is. Just last night, I attended a Cougar Business Network event (yes, it’s WSU related) — and it’s another way for people to connect and make business contacts. A core group of business leaders are reaching out to get this group up and running, and while this was only the second event, already, a number of deals are being made amongst Cougar alumni, and people are happy to re-connect and make money, too!
I ran into a number of old friends and people I hadn’t seen forever, and also got to catch up with other Cougars with whom I do business. It was great to see Jack Thompson, Glenn Osterhout, Rob Tobeck, Mike Politeo, Ron Claudon, Paul Casey and also met a number of new connections!
Next event is September 22nd at the WAC! If you are a Cougar alum and belong to the Alumni Association, AND a business owner or someone who’s interested in growing your network — you should check it out! Visit http://cbn.wsu.edu/Business/showSearch.castle for more information, and I hope to see you there.
