Seafair 2012 in the Books!
What a great experience this year as a new Seafair board member! Knowing what goes on behind the scenes gives me a much greater understanding of the HUGE amount of work and volunteer efforts that go into putting on so many awesome events!
Of course, the idea is to celebrate Seattle’s tradition, culture, communities, and just plain ol’ fun events that bring us all together for several weeks during the summer. I do have to say the weather cooperated wonderfully this year, and I met so many terrific people — from the military (thank you for your service), to Camp Korey and Make-a-Wish kids and families, to volunteers, our Royalty King Neptune (aka Slick Watts), Queen Alcyon (aka Sue Rahr), Grand Marshall Duff McKagan, hydro drivers, Blue Angel pilots, Seafair pirates, Seafair princesses, and of course the Seafair staff — which do a tremendous amount of work, and also my colleagues on the Board. Nice work, everyone! Let me know what you thought of the events this year! Margo Myers, Margo Myers Communications
