Busy Week Ahead!

Time to organize, and it isn’t even the New Year. For once, I’m going to use this week between Christmas and New Year’s to get organized. In the past when I worked in news, I seldom had this time off, and certainly wasn’t motivated to clear the decks. Now I’m more the master of my own time, so I can use it to get organized, get ready for tax season (sigh!! — I hate paperwork), and organize the house. Thankfully, our son is home from college so I have an assistant.

No real resolutions. I don’t know about you, but I’m not making any New Year’s resolutions this year. I’m thinking more in terms of long-term goals, and visions about what’s important for the future. (Gee, can you tell I’m a planner?) I love setting goals and then working towards them. Maybe all of them aren’t expressed out loud, but I carry around these visions in my head, and mentally check them off when I get there.

Reasons for optimism. I am a ‘glass is half full’ kind of gal, and truly believe that 2011 will hold good, and even great things, for a lot of people. For those of you who’ve been waiting to make a move, this might be the year to do it. Remember — if one door closes, another door opens. But you have to be ready to walk through it to take advantage of the opportunity. Here’s to being open to opportunities! (And being organized enough to even recognize it’s a door)!
